Last day in July!!!
It’s finally the last day in July and I only have nine days of work left to go. On top of that, it’s almost time to go home today. Yes!
Actually, this is the first time that I have been back to my desk at all today. I have been running around and working on some general billing problems with one of our main bills. And, basically, that’s what I have been working on all day long.Ok, to change direction, I’m thinking of moving this site to a new server. Don’t worry, you won’t notice a difference yet. Everything will still work the same. I started up the trial with them, and am awaing back some technical questions that I submitted to them.
But, if I do end up changing it over, I will be paying much less per month for hosting, and I can do a few extra things, like have my Radio Revival site be able to be accessed directly. So, that’s what I’m hoping will get done. It all depends upon how soon and fast these people get my technical problems solved. And, I hope they get solved soon, or I will plan on staying with the people I am hosting with now.
But, don’t despair. If/When the site change happens, no one will notice. You will still be able to type in the name for this site, and it will come up as usual. The only difference you would notice would be if you either looked hard at a few things, or actually looked up what server nickpadley.com actually referenced. So, in a word, there won’t be any difference.
However, I just wanted to throw that out because I wanted to say all that. But, really what I’m thinking about right now is that it’s only an hour until the end of work!
Getting sick…
Well, it is never fun getting sick, and that’s what I have been doing all day. I woke up this morning not feeling too well, but still forced myself to go to work. I was fine at work, but towards the end of the day, I was getting chills.
So, right now, I’ve got a fever, which is slowly going away, and I’ve been enjoying the past hour reading Lord of the Rings. Hopefully, I won’t have to call in sick tomorrow.
Where not to live…
Yahoo has an interesting article on a place in West Virginia where there is a radio quiet zone. So quiet, in fact, that you can’t use a microwave or even drive an unleaded car. The workers get to the area using 1960 diesel powered taxis and trucks!
The end of another Sunday…
Well, today was quite relaxing. I was able to sleep in until 10:00, then get up, and mess around with the site a little bit. I’m starting to enjoy messing around with this. Now, I just have to find some stuff to put up. (You could help, by sumitting things as well.) :-)So, after getting up and messing around the house, I played a little gamecube, and then went grocery shopping with my Dad. All I have to say about our local Hy-Vee is that their produce is really bad. We actually left, and then went to another place, because the fruit was in such horrible condition.
After shopping, it was off to play music for mass. I think it sounded pretty good tonight, and I was able to jump around on a few instruments, from piano to guitar on a few songs, so that was really fun.
After mass, it was out to dinner, and back here. After I post this, I’m planning on getting a quality hours’ worth of reading in on Lord of the Rings. I want to finish all three volumes before the next movie comes out. I hope I can.
Yay Titan A.E.
So, I’m currently writing this from Topeka. I just finished watching Titan A.E. with Dan. It’s my first time seeing the movie, and I thought it was pretty good. The animation was well done and I really liked the way that they combined traditional animation with computer rendered scenes. So, tonight, we’ve got some video gaming planned, since no one else showed up. So, tonight, it’s playing some gamecube into the night.
So, if anyone is reading this, just post a comment to let me know that you are actually interested in what I have to say here.
I’m hoping that later on, particularly as the semester starts up, we’ll have lots of news about Marquette. I’m hoping this will kind of become a hub for students, to find out what’s going on. (Or, at least for friends.)
Finally, if you have a great joke, comic, story, review, etc… (Basically anything you can think of.) Post it through the submit news form. Chances are, I’ll put it up. I actually want to spend time working on this website, and I’m hoping that involves spending time putting stories up, so that the site is more interesting for other people. So, if you’ve seen a movie, read a book, etc… post a review of it in the reviews section, and other people can read it, and comment.
Thanks!
