New teachers, new classes

Well, to give a formal/offical update on this site, my classes are going pretty well, so far. There is one small exception - the fact that one of the teachers in my business class seems to want to treat me as if I had never been enrolled in the business college before. It’s sort of different, and so I’m not sure what to think about that. Other than the business fiasco, I’ve been enjoying myself. I don’t have any class on Friday, so that makes my schedule pretty easy as well as exciting.

The one other class that I’m a little worried about is my anthropology class. I was too lazy to want to have class at 8am, so I opted for the upper division anthropology class at 9:35. However, this means that I am going to have to read Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species, which is a somewhat thick book to read, however, I think I can manage it.

My computer science class, theology class and photography class are all going to be great. I’m excited to be learning photography and all of the things that go into a good photo. As I take more and more pictures, I’ll be posting them up in the photo gallery and keep you updated as to when I do that, so stay tuned for photos.

Finally, I’m really not sure why my business teacher would feel like treating me as if I had never taken a business class before. She told me today that one of the prerequisites for the class was taking the introduction to information technology course which is offered as a survey to the field. I don’t want to knock the business college, but I really think that I have the required skill set to take an upper-division IT course, based upon my computer science background and my internship background in business. However, just to be on the safe side, I emailed the professor today (the real one is out of town for this week) and asked for her suggestion. I still think it’s frustrating the way that the business college seems to have their own aura and separate personality from the rest of the university. It’s pretty weird. Has anyone else at Marquette experienced this feeling, or am I alone on this one?

Well, that’s about it for now, have a great Thursday!
