Space Rangers to Nose Rangers?
I was messing around on the net this evening and came across this article on CNN’s website. I guess there is a new breed of ranger - one that combats bad smells coming from farms. Watch out, neighbors might start reporting you to the smell rangers!
Beginner’s Violin
I went to my violin lesson yesterday and had a lot of fun. My teacher, Annie, helped me to identify the different parts of the violin, the different strings, how to hold the bow and started showing me what the different notes were along the fingerboard. This week, I’ll be taking some time to memorize what notes are where and to familiarize my fingers with grabbing for those notes. Next week, we’ll begin some basic playing. I’m a bit of a different student since I already have a music background from piano and guitar, so it looks like I will be starting ahead of some of the other beginning students. It’s interesting to be learning another instrument, since typically people learn them when they are kids and not adults, if that’s what I’m considered.
Violin Lesson
I am currently two hours away from my first music lesson - for violin. I have decided to take some of my time (and money!) to learn a new instrument. I’ve always wanted to learn violin and now I’m getting the chance. I’m really looking forward to it and will be posting some news later tonight, after the lesson to let everyone know how it goes. Last week, I bought this great Glaesel violin and I can’t wait to use it. I spent Monday, the night I bought it, just admiring the handiwork of my new instrument and even tried squeaking out a note. (And it did squeak.)
