It’s almost time for Thanksgiving and I’m definitely looking foward to a four day weekend. I stopped by my house yesterday and realized two things: The cabinet maker didn’t leave a space for my dishwasher, and the retaining wall on the left hand side of the driveway was going to be poured wrong. Naturally, I got in touch with the builder, and we got everything straigtened out. The contractors who were pouring the retaining wall were going to pour straight onto the driveway and put the cement straight onto the wood of the house! Well, we had them move the wall off the driveway and into the yard, asking them to put the wall against the foundation of the house. They weren’t too happy with that, and whined and complained about how they would have to dig more footing, etc… Tough luck. They shouldn’t have been pouring cement on the driveway in the first place or putting cement up against wood! That could cause some serious rot problems. In other news, Brian got home last night and is pretty impressed with the new digital cable system that we have in the house. However, he is not really impressed with the new Mario Kart video game that I brought. We played a few races last night and Brian started up on his “I don’t like the Gamecube controller” bit, so I don’t think he liked it too much. Oh well, Patrick still likes it, so I’m looking forward to some good, heated games over this weekend! Have a happy Thanksgiving.
