When technology fails

It’s always amazing what happens when technology fails. I spent a good 30 minutes yesterday talking with a vendor who put in my shower doors, because they claimed that the credit card charge hadn’t gone through and my card was being declined. Turns out that the charge did go through but the line dropped before the confirmation could be sent to the vendor’s machine. After making a number of calls between the credit card company and the vendor, everything worked its way out. Surprising how a misplaced carrier could cause that much trouble! If you’re looking to read more about these types of accidents, check out this book. In other news, I’m getting my storm door installed this afternoon, so I’m taking a late lunch at work. During lunch, I’ll be enjoying the comforts of my new furniture, which was delivered on Monday. I am planning on getting a few more pictures of the house up this weekend, so that I can show off the sofas and actually post some pictures of the outside of the house in its finished format.

By the way, sorry about not posting for a while. I realize that I missed last Friday’s humor link, but I figured it was the holidays, so I’m allowed one week off or so. Don’t worry, however, the links will resume next year, on January 2. Stay tuned… I’m working on a good one for you!
