So, Apple has released an update to iTunes today. I’m quite the avid fan, as I think it is the best place online to buy music. I haven’t gotten a chance to mess around with any of the new features, but I’m excited about being able to print out case inserts for my playlists, since I typically use iTunes to burn all the music that I buy online.
Additionally included in the update is a format that is called Apple Lossless compression. I decided to look this up, just to pique my curiousity. It compresses the sound to about half of the size of a normal CD. This does not mean that the files will be smaller than the AAC format, rather, they are larger. A typical song will take about 35 MB, so that’s pretty large, but I guess the audiophiles will enjoy it.In other news, I have decided to convert to the Mozilla browser at work. I have found it to be much faster than its coutnerpart. However, there are certain things that I can’t do in Mozilla, like running some Java applets, because the Sun Java Applet plugin does not work with ones created under Microsoft’s java. Go figure.
Other than that, I’ve been quite busy at work, with lots of things coming down the pipeline. I expect that over the next few weeks, I’ll be putting in some good time on coding some stuff, particularly staying after hours or arriving early in the morning to get stuff done, so that I am not bothered. We’ll see. It’s already the end of Wednesday, which means I’m closer to the weekend, but also closer to those deadlines!
