Ooooh! Green and shiny!
My grandmother finally received her birthday present last night - a brand new green iPod mini. I really like the color and I got to spend about three hours over at her house last night, explaining everything it did and showing her how to use it.
Ever since buying my iPod in May, I have developed this complex where I want everyone to own an iPod because they are so cool and easy to use. Anytime someone mentions the iPod I have this full discourse that I spurt out, including sales hype and everything. I’m not sure what it says about me, other than I have observed similar behavior among Mac users, and I think that I’m turning into one. (By the way, I want a new iMac, and am making plans to buy one. So yes, I’m definitely becoming a Mac fan.)
I still think that one of the best features of the iPod is its ability to play Audible files, a feature that many other MP3 hard drive players lack. I also have to say that Audible is a wonderful service. I have been constantly amazed at the way they strive to keep their users happy. Last night, I was having trouble downloading audio content and sent them a support ticket about it. This morning, when I woke up, the ticket had been answered, explaining the problem. That would have been enough for me, but they went the extra step and gave me a free audiobook for the inconvenience of not having my downloads work! Now, that’s an awesome company.
So, I’ll get off my iPod soapbox now, and let you return to your regularly scheduled programming.
