Here’s one thing that you need to do sometime before next Wendesday - go on a rosary walk. I took some time out of my day to walk around the park, which is a few blocks from work. It was really relaxing to walk around and pray out loud to God. In a way, praying outside while I was walking really helped me feel like my prayers were being heard. Many times, when praying outside, I get the feelings that my prayers are really rising up like incense. It’s an intense feeling, almost a vision, and really hard to describe. So, I must recommend that you take some time this weekend (It’s supposed to be around 60 on Saturday!) and take a rosary walk. If you let me know, I’ll even make time to go with you.
This morning, I was determined to make it to mass at a parish out in Leawood. Needless to say, it took me about 25 minutes to travel from my house to the parish, where I found out that this morning’s 8:30 mass also happened to be an all school mass! I was trying to avoid that, since I have adoration at 10:00, and knew that I wouldn’t be able to make my appointment with Jesus if I stayed. So, I went ahead and drove to work, only to find out that in place of my adoration time, there was a funeral mass scheduled for one of the parishoners who had died at the end of last week. I was able to sit in on the mass and hear some wonderful things about the family and this person’s life. I ask that, if you are reading about this funeral, please take a few moments and say a Hail Mary for the comfort of the family and the repose of the soul of their beloved departed.
Finally, in an effort to not finish this post with something sad, I have to let everyone know Megan, Matt and I won last night at Trivial Pursuit! It was a sweet victory, with both teams coming in close at the finish line, however, we all won when Megan, being the smarty pants that she is, realized that a dirigible really is a blimp and we won with the word "Hindenburg." The other teams hopes then crashed in a burning ball of flaming hydrogen and they all realized us for the trivia masters we were. (All except for Richard, who declared himself incensed and then became very irritated when a swinging-censure-like movement was made near him.) It was a fun time, and I’m very grateful to Dan for coming up with the original idea. Have a great Wednesday!
