Well, I had a great weekend. Thursday night was spent enjoying dinner with my friend Jenny, who I haven’t gotten a chance to talk with in quite a while. Dinner was fun, except for the fact that we had two servers who decided to come by the table every three minutes to see if everything was tasting fine, whether glasses needed to be refilled or any other myriad of things that servers come up with to bother you about, while at the same time interrupting your conversation. But, regardless of the constant interruptions, we had a great time.
Friday night, I met a whole bunch of people at the Plaza to celebrate Jason’s birthday. We had a great time, even though I felt fairly tired by the end of the evening (actually, I was already tired when I got there.) I would have had better conversation with people, except the music was fairly loud and the band who was playing couldn’t play a cover to save their life. Sarah spent some of the evening trying to convince me that it was my goal in life to make her a spinach-avocado cheese dip. I may just have to take her up on that offer. We’ll see.
Saturday night, we all sat around the house and did nothing but watch movies. Items watched: Flightplan and Boondock Saints. Both great movies in their own right. Also did some cooking Sat. night.
Sunday morning was spent at work, as always. Since it is Catholic Schools week, all the kids helped take care of the mass. It was a bit of a fiasco, as I was asked to help out at the last minute and keep everyone on track. Nothing like last minute around here. It seems to be the going style of doing things. Anyway, I got to play a few songs at mass as well as do my best to calm down a seventh grade girl who had been told she was going to play at mass and was having a nervous breakdown, because this was her first time playing at a Sunday mass. Luckily, we all made it through, and it was a wonderful, blessed service. Thanks God, for that one. You rock. (Oh, and so does that seventh grade piano player. I was so not even confident enough to get up and sing at a Sunday mass when I was in seventh grade, let alone try and play the piano!)
Today is just an ordinary work day. I have confirmation meetings this afternoon and bible study tonight. I just have to figure out what I’m going to make for snacks tomorrow evening for game night. Please leave suggestions, if you will.
Items cooked this weekend (so relaxing!)
Fettuccinie Carbonara
Molasses brined Pork Chops
Garlic Broiled Broccoli
