New Video
Last night, I spent some time getting my new video together for the parish auction. I’m donating what’s called “10 Minutes of Fame.” For whoever wins my auction item, I will go out to their house and help them shoot a 10 minute video. This includes editing, sound and other effects that are at my disposal.
In order to help people realize what I’m doing, I put together a 1 minute advertisement that I’m going to show at the assembly for the kids and also at the auction. If you’re interested in seeing the video, check it out here. Feel free to leave any comments.
Phone Modding
Happy Easter Tuesday to everyone. I hope that this Easter Octave holds blessings and happiness for you.
As for me, I have a new toy to play with. I am currently the proud owner of a new cell phone. I did the eBay thing and bought it there, so it’s unlocked. There is only one small difference about the phone - it’s British. That’s right, my phone spells things weird. Instead of Call Forwarding it’s Call Divert, instead of Customize, I Customise and I now send text messages through the Message Centre. Oh well…
Given that the phone is unlocked, there are a few things I had to do to get it to work seamlessly with T-Mobile’s service. I did some good searching last night and finally was able to get the drivers to work on the computer to hex edit the phone. Of special importance was the fact that my voicemail icon did not work properly. After some grueling hours of driver madness (I forgot how much easier it was to have an Apple), I was able to get my hex editor to pick up the phone for some fun (albeit nerve-wracking) customization.
Speaking of drivers, man I love my iMac. If there’s one thing about Windows that I don’t miss, it’s the whole driver shuffle. Is this the current driver? Is there a driver available? Etc… In fact, I never understood why Windows allows you to search the Microsoft website for a driver, because it never finds one anyway. Does anyone else see that as a waste of time. Go Apple. The driver madness ends right there. Just sit back, relax and the OS will take care of it all.
Tied up…
Well, I was putting together my suit tonight for Easter Vigil and realized one crucial thing - the tie that goes with my suit is AWOL. I was going to sing a nice Veggietales parody (Oh where is my suit tie), but decided against that.
Unfortunately, this means one of two things - either the friend that I called whose house I may have left the tie at finds it or I must settle for a tie that doesn’t match exactly to the suit. Of course, there’s always the option to go buy another one, however I’ll be at work tomorrow at 8am, so I will have to drive all the way back to the city for a tie. I’m not sure it’s worth the gas to be that fashionable.
In other news, Good Friday mass was exellent tonight. I always forget how weird the church looks when it is stripped of all the customary tablecloths, statues and crosses. They had stripped the church so bare that even though I’m pretty sure I knew everything that was missing, I still feel like there was something else not present that I couldn’t quite figure out. It was very disconcerting.
So, tomorrow evening, I am looking forward to what I hope will be the best Easter Vigil ever. I have two (count that, two!) goddaughters that are being baptised into the church, and I’m so pumped to be standing up there with them as they are initiated. I will have to muster strength to resist the urge to give the girls a high five after their immersion.
I hope that everyone has had a great Holy Week. The resurrection is just one day away!
New Gallery
Well, I had some free time this morning. I was thinking of putting together a photo gallery on Google’s pages site, but decided to put one together in iWeb. If you go to the photo galleries, you will now see some of the pictures from a trip to Washington, DC that I took in 2004. Yeah, I know it’s not much, but I haven’t been taking too many pictures as of late. I’m hoping to remedy that soon.
Shower Dancing
Alright everyone. Stomp practice is this Saturday. Grab your towel…
