Like getting a new keyboard

So, I did some keyboard playing today, partially in practice for tomorrow’s mass music and partially to just enjoy playing. I recently started playing around with the brilliance feature on the keyboard, which affects the overall eq of the sound output. Prior to playing around on the keyboard, my ears would get tired after around 15 minutes of playing because all the notes sounded really muddy and didn’t blend together. However, after upping the brilliance, I think I’ve finally got the keyboard sounding like the nice clavinova the church bought. Ah, technology - isn’t it wonderful.

In other news, I spent most of my day at a TEC meeting and working on my youth newsletter. It’s finally done and ready to be sent to the printers. Of course, being sent to the printers means me going out and buying the 11×17 paper, copying off the newsletters, folding them, putting labels on and stamping them. Well, at least it’s cheap labor. (Wait a minute…)

Tomorrow I’m heading out to camp for a worship summit. I guess I’m going to learn how to make worship relevant (whatever that means) and learn how to incorporate praise and worship into different aspects of my ministry. I’m excited about it, so I’ll be blogging later on tomorrow and give my thoughts on the presentation.

For now, it’s out to the living room to watch Ryan play a little bit of Metal Gear before heading off to bed.
